LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We acknowledge that the land on which Westminster United Church stands has been inhabited by the residents of Turtle Island for thousands of years. This land is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the New Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Neutral, the Haudenosaunee and the Huron-Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations people. We also acknowledge that Mississauga is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. Westminster is committed to the ongoing work of reconciliation as we learn about the effects of colonialism and seek to heal relations with Indigenous people.
