Rev. Irene Ty
Minister
Rev. Irene Ty is the Minister at Westminster United Church. Since her ordination in 2003, she has served in different multi-ethnic congregations in west Toronto, North York and Thornhill.
Irene has experience in fostering Christian development activities with children, youth and adults. She served for five years as Chair of the Intercultural Committee in the South West Presbytery of Toronto. She currently chairs the Advisory Board of the Student Christian Movement.
Originally from the Philippines of Chinese origin, Irene is conversant in several languages including French. She likes to keep fit by attending Zumba dance classes, bicycling and, in winter, cross country skiing.
Christine MacDougall
Music Director
Chris MacDougall , Music Director at Westminster United Church, has been in the Church Music Business for about 40 years. (She was VERY young at her first job!)
Currently directing 4 choirs at the church, Chris really enjoys the diversity so unique to Westminster, and loves the multi-cultural aspect of the choirs. Chris conducts Chancel, Bells, United2Ring and Folk.
Chris is now conducting and accompanying the community choir in Streetsville called 'Note-Ables'...many Justus folks are in it, plus lots of folks from the community...mostly Seniors...they love to sing and perform.
Chris retired from elementary school teaching, and directed many choirs. Her husband, John MacDougall is a soloist and bass chorister in the choir. Her sons David and Eric are avid musicians.

Lesley
Office Administrator
Lesley has worked in Student Services at York University for 12 years since graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Translation. As a seasoned office administrator and customer service professional, she specializes in finding efficiencies in work processes that result in high quality service delivery. Her desire for innovation can be seen from the development of different learning aids and training modules to improving the inner dynamics of the teams she belongs to. As she transitioned out of her previous work in higher education, she has been enhancing her skills and knowledge in the non-profit sector, particularly around advocacy for migrant and human rights. She is driven by a desire for positive change and drawn to work that meaningfully contributes to the greater good. As she enters this stage in her career she is driven by the belief that a life in service of others, in service of the people, is a life well lived.
